Winter Blues
I don't know about you, but this week brought the winter blues along with it. We keep getting snow, not too bad, just enough to be a pain. Even my intrepid caprines have been expressing dismay.
This week I had Dean Stampfli from Ohio in the shop building a continuous arm. Below, he is using the reamer in the brace. I am becoming a real fan of this set up. The shame is, Dean has no idea how tough a learning curve most folks face reaming, He just flew right through it! I think that having the central hold on the brace makes all the difference.
Here is his finished chair.
And for those of you eagerly awaiting the drawing from the most recent spoon, the Chair Notes covergirl, in her finest sweatshirt and knit hat, picked Mark Fasching's name out of the hat! Thanks again to all those who put their name in. I'll be posting a new spoon this week.
It's so cold here in Ontario that the politicians have their hands in their own pockets.

We are glad the snow and ice has melted here in GA, but we still have a small amount on our patio on the north side of the house.
ReplyDeleteThe kids don't seem to be too thrilled about the snow. Will they venture out into it?
I think this winter is the one that broke the camels back. After sixteen winters, winters that start in October and end in May, it could be time to relocate. Heck, we've gotten almost eight feet of snow this month and my ski partner, my ten year old son Sawyer, is out with a torn ACL. How depressing is that?
ReplyDeleteJames,
ReplyDeleteI'm scrapping for every bit of joy I can find. At least there are no house flies, my logs aren't rotting, I can keep a jug of cider in the shop without refrigeration, and after all, I look great in wool. aaaargh, it's not working!
Tee,
ReplyDeletethey don't mind the snow so much, there are plenty of days when I'd expect them to seek shelter when they just hang out outside! Trust me, those little porkers don't suffer!
